Unsure

February 21, 2012 1:10 am

I can’t say that I don’t like the hire. But I will say that I am unsure about it. The only reason I say this I feel like this isn’t a huge jump from Raheerm Morris. I know we were terrible this past year, but did we need an entire staff change? And I mean an entire change for a coach with absolutely not professional coaching experience. There seems to be a lot of senior defensive and offensive advisors. Who is going to be making the calls? Head coach? Offensive coordinator? Offensive advisor? The move almost seems rushed. There could be some extremely big time coaches possibly throwing their names back into the NFL coaching circle. Sometimes it seems like owners no longer have the patience to give their teams enough time to work through the rough patches. We are now in a league where you can go from the top to the bottom in less than an entire season. And being in the NFC south I think we all know that to be entirely true. Schiano Looks to have the discipline necessary to keep this young team in line. The Bucs look to be in position to add quality players through the draft and free agency. It will be interesting to see who Dominik and Schiano will find the help right this ship. I do find myself wondering however if they were to never fire Morris and we were to go 10 - 6 and get a playoff win. Would we still want to fire Morris? But then again what if we had another season with fewer than 6 wins? Everyone should be excited for the big changes. It’s always an upside to having 60 plus million in cap space. Especially when the new coach is coming in to implement their philosophy.

The New Regime

February 16, 2012 10:23 am

Since I am the only one who posts here anymore, not sure if anyone will read this, but I am excited about our new head coach and the help he will get from the senior offensive and defensive assistants.  Coach Schiano seems to be exactly what this team needs.  A tough, disciplined guy with high standards.  Now, let's go spend some money on quality Free Agents to fill some holes (WR, LB, CB).

Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next Head Coach

January 6, 2012 8:15 am

I just listened to our local sports station interviewing Brian Billick this morning.  I really believe he would be an excellent candidate.  The guy knows what he is talking about and has significant experience.  He might have a big Ego, but so what?  This team could benefit from this guy's knowledge.  Thoughts?  Crickets.....crickets.....

New coaching staff and draft

January 3, 2012 10:30 am

Now that Raheem and his staff are gone, what direction should we go in?  Personally, I would prefer Jeff Fisher because of his experience and overall good record.  He would establish a professional atmosphere.  On offense, I would prefer that we run a similar style to the Packers and Patriots, where the QB has multiple options available to him.  I think we need to tweak our Offensive line (primarily Right Tackle), add a speed WR (preferably through free agency, but if Blackmon is available, I am good with that too).  We absoultely need a RB to tandem with Blount.  If Trent Richardson is available, get him.  If not, bring in an all around back through free agency or get LaMichael James in the second round (if he is there).

On defense, bring in a DC with experience.  I would be okay with moving to a 3-4 if it makes sense.

Just my thoughts.  Any other Buc Fans out there??????

Go Bucs!
